Studio BodyPaint: Esther & Chaja Hertog

As twins, we began our journey with our first face painting set at the age of ten. What started as a hobby quickly evolved into our profession. With passion, we’ve painted for many years at international festivals, events, and theaters. In recent years, we’ve specialized in (pregnant belly) body paint and creative special effects makeup. Studio Bodypaint is a family business based in Amsterdam, and we’re always willing to travel for you.

Both of us have a background in art, honing our skills during our time at art school. This artistic foundation is at the core of our creative approach. We take pride in capturing our own body paint projects through photography.

Beyond our work at Studio Bodypaint, we each follow our unique paths. Esther is a documentary filmmaker and Acroyoga instructor, while Chaja is part of the artist duo Hertog Nadler. Each of these facets contributes to our versatility and creative approach to our craft at Studio Bodypaint.

About the Makeup
At Studio Body Paint, we use Grimas Water Make-up Pure, a water-based face paint that easily washes off with soap. On the day of the painting, we advise not applying oil or greasy cream to the belly.

Grimas Water Make-up Pure is unscented and gluten-free, without added chemical preservatives. Our years of experience with Grimas have given us confidence that this makeup is well-tolerated even on the most sensitive skin, and we have never received any complaints.
